Meet Hurricane Ike
Meet Ike We are entering the peak of hurricane season so it's not surprising. Here's hoping that Hanna, Ike and Josephine don't carry with them catastrophic results for anyone. We discovered this afternoon that we do have power and water, although we don't know if the sewage services are up to par. A walk of the property revealed no damage other than plenty of branches and other wind blown debris everywhere. The local grocery store is cleaning out the store and should be open soon but there are others not too far away that are open. With that news, we are headed back to New Orleans tomorrow morning and hoping that we don't run into to much (if any) re-entry traffic. It will be good to get back. Gustav's threat gave me more of an idea what I can live without and what I refuse to live without. (Like my mother always said -- a blessing in everything.) School progress reports came out yesterday and I was fully prepared to lay down the law and force my children into some type of work for your meals, never have any fun, sit in your room and cry regimen to help them keep their grades up. Sadly, they have thwarted my fun by bringing home pretty acceptable grades. I say if they don't bring home all A's there is definitely room for improvement, but I suppose a high B shouldn't be cause for me to chop their little heads off either. Besides, Dirty Larry is offering these people MONEY for A's. I should probably be happy that a high B is gonna save me a dime in the long run, but this goes completely against my NEED for A's. I'm trying to give Pateriko a little break since he did, in fact, pretty much jump a grade ahead, but the truth is...he's capable. He just has the lazy gene inherited directly from his mother. My gene affected the cleanliness of my room and my ability to correctly serve a volleyball, while his gene seems to be... (more)

Blogging on a rainy morn.
Warning: The names have been changed to protect the innocent. Well, folks, here we are, live from Akron, Ohio. It's a rainy day out, and I'm home alone. My brother's off at college, my sister is at school, and my other sister and my parents are off to Rhode Island. They're dropping off my sister at pastry school. I didn't reallly have any plans because a lot of my friends are either in school, working or too far away for my driving preference. Oh well. I'll have that social life sooner or later! I have kind of a funny story. There's this girl who works at another restaurant a few doors down from where I work. We'll call her Alice. She came in, I talked to her briefly, and she ordered food and kind of started flirting with my co-worker, Momo. Which was understandable; Momo's a good-looking guy with a great personality. im so freaking bored. a house without a phone, and the thing is that i miss, yes, MISS, my friends phone calls. like mei yi and carine and joey. those who call me usually. :(i want a god-damn f-phone. please!! and yeah yesterday sent my brother to school. growing-up-gifted (GUG) at united square. then went to get groceries, drinks for our ID as she came yesterday. yes, thanks to her for our awesome house. (: i still dont have a freaking chair for my room. how am i supposed to do my work without a chair??! today wallpaper men are coming to fix up our wallpapers. YAY! my is this balck and white design, which i am so obsessed with. during my birthday, mum said i could invite friends over for BBQ and swimming (maybe, see what friends say first). and my birthday is on the first day of term 4 holidays! 25 oct, gonna PLAY and HAVOC like there's no end. :)hahas, bye. and eric, i am not rich. but thanks for the flattering words.
